What is THE best RPG series/game you've ever played?

Personally for me , it'd either be the Baldur's Gate series or Final Fantasy series.
Im looking to play a new one
any reccomendations

It's been Final Fantasy Tactics for as long as I can remember. But I've probably played something better, just can't remember. I recommend Disgae, either the first or the second game.

legend of Ligaia, during PS1 but the game play takes longer. Final Fantasy 7 and 8, lots of hidden bosses and materials.

star wars knights of the old republic 1 & star wars knights of the old republic 2: the sith lords

and its relatively cheap to the other games listed, cus i already have a computer and I think it's a classic game.

you can get lost in taht game for hours at a time

Final Fantasy 8 is my all time favourite game I could play that over and over again the story is immense.

the only FF i have played was 12 and i got stuck on that

FF VII and VIII are cool. lots of secrets and hidden enemies..I used cheats when i played the game..hehe..so it's easy to locate them..

Haha your only doing your self a injustice by cheating, completing a FF without any help is a mamoth task so when you do it, it feels ace !

in most games i play i go through once with cheats first. and than go through again without so i know the levels

I think the best rpg I've ever played is SMT: Nocturne. With five or so different endings, giving it awsome replay value, I also really enjoyed the way you form your party by creating different demons and monsters. Also, after beating it once you can also play through it like an oldschool dungeon-crawler like eye of the beholder or wizardry.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does SMT stand for? Can't think of which series it is.

I've heard of Shin Megami Tensai, never played it though. I was a PC game back in the PS2 generation.

I'm actually playing FFVII right now. Just completed the first disc. I hadn't completed it before, but after Crisis Core, I decided to continue the story.

I ended up getting confused as hell because i have only played the 12th FF s really had no idea on much back story besides chocobos kick ass

But for some reason all my save files keep screwing up, i have to rely on auto saves
ive patched it as far as it goes
maybe its just a vista problem

VISTA IS THE DEVIL OF COMPUTERS IT IS HOrRIBLE xp is way better since they have all the bugs out of it

Vista is sure annoying in a lot of respects. It doesn't crash for me though, now that service pack 1 is installed. It's just the other things that annoy me, like the hard drive constantly thrashing and the useless UAC control.

im just gunna stick with XP it works for what i do

I regret not having wiped the hard drive and installing XP instead. Having the computer come with Vista preinstalled, tricked me good.

I'd like to play KOTOR some day. Just need to get back into PC gaming. Haven't used the PC for gaming in years. I think Serious Sam II was the last game I played on PC.
